this time for africa!

yellow fever vaccination?

                    check.

anti-malarials?
                                  check.

ridiculously cool DRC visas?

check.

RT flights to Johannesburg, continuing through to DRC??

check...and check!

so much has been hanging in the balance, i've been reluctant to make any big announcements, but following completion of the above checklist, it's safe to say that one week from RIGHT NOW we'll be on our way to the democratic republic of congo and zambia!

crazy!

we will be working for several months with université méthodiste au katanga--katanga  methodist university--near the town of mulungwishi in southern katanga province. chris will be working with their dean of agriculture to build their new agriculture program and i'll be teaching english and (hopefully) doing some community research.  we'll also be traveling back and forth to zambia a bit to strengthen some more  relationships for KMU and for our program back at oklahoma state university.

there's an overwhelming load of over-sharing i could do right now, but i'm too exhausted to delve into that at the moment. for now, please get up out of your chair and join us in in a happy dance that after months of work and preparation, this trip is *actually* coming to fruition!

cue happy dance music....
